
Biography
Norman Marks, CPA, CRMA, is a retired senior executive who advises individuals and organizations worldwide on risk management, internal audit, corporate governance, enterprise performance, and the value of information. He served as chief audit executive at major global corporations for 20 years, and additionally as chief risk officer, compliance officer, and ethics officer. He led IT governance functions including information security, contingency planning, methodologies, and standards. Managed Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Section 404 programs and investigation units. Author of 12+ books, including 'Auditing at the Speed of Risk' (2022), 'Risk Management for Success' (2020), 'Making Business Sense of Technology Risk' (2019), 'Risk Management in Plain English: A Guide for Executives' (2018), and 'World-Class Risk Management' (2015). Won the IIA's Thurston award in 2004 and 2014. Honored as Fellow of the Open Compliance and Ethics Group, Honorary Fellow of the Institute of Risk Management, and inducted into the IIA's American Hall of Distinguished Practitioners (2018).
